The mission of OneOnOne Computer Training is to publish continuous improvement resources for office computer users.

Founded in 1976 by Lee McFadden, and incorporated under the name Mosaic Media, Inc., the company first published self-paced mathematics instruction for schools until 1981, when it developed its first computer tutorial. Today, hundreds of computer courses, dozens of newsletter titles, and more than a million learners later,OneOnOne is the world's leading developer of ongoing computer training. Thousands of offices from the White House to Disney World — including over 75% of the Fortune 500 companies — have depended on OneOnOne to turn on employees to new computer skills.

Training Bulletins for Desktop Applications

In 1994, OneOnOne developed Working Smarter, a subscription program designed to reinforce and advance end-user skills on a continuous basis. Currently, more than 100,000 office workers receive a 4-page newsletter every two weeks, filled with quick tips and hands-on tutorials for popular office software such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook, WordPerfect, and The Internet.

Working Smarter is normally distributed in small office quantities of from 4 to 100 copies. But larger organizations are licensed to make version-specific editions available to thousands of employees via their Intranets. Today Working Smarter — with subscribers in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. — stands alone as the only ongoing training program of its kind.

Audio Courses for Office Users

In 1981, OneOnOne pioneered the first self-paced computer tutorials, using audiocassettes. A patented FlipTrack format provided optional instruction at a flip of the tape. And the company became known for achieving superior results by enabling users to work hands-on with the actual software they were learning.

Today, the company uses an innovative CD-ROM technology that earned a Top 10 Training Products award from Human Resource Executive Magazine in 1998. Ideal for interactive audio instruction with flexible topic selection, OneOnOne's CD-ROM player allows a learner to maintain complete control of the software at all times. And by installing OneOnOne training on a network, an entire enterprise can receive individualized training on demand.

Compared to simulated and demo-style training media, no other teaching approach can compete with the proven end-result of learning hands-on with the actual software.

Self-teaching CD-ROM Courses are currently available for both Office 97 and Office 2000 applications.
